2015 Co-educators
2015 UConn Co-educators Begin Their Cape Town Adventures

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG

As anyone who has participated in UConn's Education Abroad in Cape Town will tell you, there are no words to adequately explain the depth of the experiences, no illustrations to sufficiently describe the hospitality of the people, and no pictures to begin to capture the exquisite scenery. Therefore this blog is only intended to provide an unfolding story of the those co-educators who are traveling together as companions on this amazing journey.

As Resident Director of this program since 2008 it is once again my privilege and honor to accompany another group of students to this place I have come to know and love.

In peace, with hope,

Taylor P is ready to begin this journey

Hi, my name is Taylor and I am an allied health major. I'm a sophomore and I plan on going to PA school after I graduate from UConn. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to travel to Cape Town. I guess I can say that I'm looking for adventure and South Africa seems like a good place to start. The internships available through the study abroad program interested me further because as a pre-PA student, I am constantly looking for new ways to gain patient care experience. I honestly could not be happier that I was chosen to participate in this study abroad program. I was nervous the whole decision week and my impatient attitude did not help. I got the acceptance email in the middle of class and my professor asked me why I couldn't stop smiling. I probably looked like a crazy person grinning at my phone! I can't believe it's less than 3 months until we leave for our trip. The holidays are my favorite time of year but I can't help but hope that they pass quickly this year because I am so ready to begin our journey to Cape Town and embark on the adventure of a life time!
