2015 Co-educators
2015 UConn Co-educators Begin Their Cape Town Adventures

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG

As anyone who has participated in UConn's Education Abroad in Cape Town will tell you, there are no words to adequately explain the depth of the experiences, no illustrations to sufficiently describe the hospitality of the people, and no pictures to begin to capture the exquisite scenery. Therefore this blog is only intended to provide an unfolding story of the those co-educators who are traveling together as companions on this amazing journey.

As Resident Director of this program since 2008 it is once again my privilege and honor to accompany another group of students to this place I have come to know and love.

In peace, with hope,

Emily is looking forward to sharing her adventures

"Hello there!

My name is Emily, and I am currently a Junior studying Allied Health Sciences at the wonderful University of Connecticut. I am delighted to be writing to you as I prepare to embark on the journey of a lifetime to Cape Town, South Africa. When I tell people where I’m heading in January, some seem puzzled and can’t quite understand why. What drew me to Cape Town was the natural beauty of the landscape and the plethora of cultures found there. The internship component of the program also sparked my interest, as I’ve always felt a strong desire to do clinical work abroad. I have nothing but immense feelings of gratitude and excitement when thinking about what is to come. The day I was accepted, I was literally skipping around campus! The next few weeks will come and go quicker than I think, and soon enough, I’ll be posting from across the Atlantic! I look forward to sharing my adventures with you…"
