2015 Co-educators
2015 UConn Co-educators Begin Their Cape Town Adventures

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG

As anyone who has participated in UConn's Education Abroad in Cape Town will tell you, there are no words to adequately explain the depth of the experiences, no illustrations to sufficiently describe the hospitality of the people, and no pictures to begin to capture the exquisite scenery. Therefore this blog is only intended to provide an unfolding story of the those co-educators who are traveling together as companions on this amazing journey.

As Resident Director of this program since 2008 it is once again my privilege and honor to accompany another group of students to this place I have come to know and love.

In peace, with hope,

Becca's hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Well, I wish that I could talk about how wonderful touring Rondebosh was and how beautiful everything is, but unfortunately I was one of the first people to get sick on this trip, so I spent the whole day cooped up in the house. And I have to say being sick so far from home it is NOT fun. I won’t go into the details of how bad it was but let’s just say that my whole body was not a happy camper today. I will say that everyone in the house was so sweet about it, bringing me crackers and water when I couldn’t get out of bed and constantly checking on me. And hopefully tomorrow my body will have recovered so that I can finally go exploring.

I will say that that even though I didn’t go exploring today, the house that we are living is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures that we were saw of the house beforehand to no justice. The pool is lovely and the whole house is adorable, with its own character throughout the house. I am so happy I got one of the pool house rooms, the room is so adorable and the closet space is amazing, I very proud I was able to fit all my clothes in the closet. It still hasn’t hit me that I will be spending 3 ½ months living here. Hopefully tomorrow will be a lot better than today.
